As Memphis 3.0, the city’s long-term growth strategy attempted to gain the approval of the Memphis City Council, it was met with opposition by a group of citizens that included Radio Personality Michael Adrian Davis and Dr. Carnita Atwater of the New Chicago Partnership Revitalization Project. The group voiced their concern that the Memphis 3.0 plan is not inclusive of everyone and feels that the plan will not contribute to the growth potential of some certain communities. The matter has been delayed for two weeks as motioned by Councilwoman Cheyenne Johnson.
